HE WAKA EKE NOA- WE ARE ALL IN THE WAKA TOGETHER.

Just like the other classes in Heretaunga RoaRoa Haumako Room 21 have collaboratively designed a class waka.

We have used the whakatauki of ‘He Waka Eke Noa - We are all in the waka together’ to inspire us to learn and work together so that we can reach our goals.

All of us in Room 21 have created a part of the waka with a paddle that represents us. Myself along with Mrs Evans, who we are lucky to have when I am not teaching Room 21 are also in the waka. Together, all our pieces create a completed class waka. Without any one of the pieces, our waka is not complete. By creating a class waka with everyone paddling in the same direction we aim to form a strong sense of identity and belonging for 2017.
