Morning, Maths, Magic

Wow! It was fantastic walking into Room 19 this morning and seeing a number of motivated children and their whanau working together. Morning maths is a great way to practise with a range of teachers, classmates and whanau different maths problems.

Here are few action shots.

Greer and her younger sister collaborating to solve a problem together with materials.

Mrs Roach and Kirnpreet teaming up.

Great seeing lots of whanau getting involved.

Some thinking and pair sharing happening.

A range of different level problems for everyone to attack.

Karakia
Whakataka te hau ki te uru,
Whakataka te hau ki te tonga.

Kia mākinakina ki uta,
Kia mātaratara ki tai.

E hī ake ana te atākura, he tio,
he huka, he hauhunga

Haumi e! Hui e! Tāiki e!

Cease the winds from the west,
Cease the winds from the south,
Let the breeze blow over the land,
Let the breeze blow over the ocean,

Let the red tipped dawn come with a sharpened air, A touch of frost, a promise of a glorious day.
